Environment & sustainability

Our green vision:
“Sigtuna Meetings will be forerunners in sustainability issues in the Scandinavian hotel and conference market. We will create successful meetings where the experience is in focus. We do this by constantly seeking new knowledge and beeing a reliable partner. Nature is an obvious and important stakeholder.

We have a strong commitment to sustainability issues in which we are constantly seeking new ways to reduce the impact the company’s operations on the environment. We do this both through the daily operations and the long-term strategic decisions. Sustainability work is not just about the environment. Taking care of people is just as important, to be a profitable and quality-conscious employer and supplier to our customers. Only by overcoming all these parts, we can be trustworthy when it somes to sustainability.

– “An important role for us as a company is to show the way. By spreading knowledge and by influencing our suppliers, contractors and customers, we can jointly come a long way in sustainability efforts. Nobody can do everything but everyone can do something. A worn but true expression! “Says Hanna Bergendahl, Sustainability Manager at Sigtunahöjden.

Social responsibility

The Foundation “Banglabarn” was started with the ambition to develop and improve the ability of poor people in Bangladesh. Mr Raton Razzak, the founder of Banglabarn, comes from Bangladesh, but have lived in Sweden for more than 30 years. He left his home country with support from one of his his teachers in his home village. He was able to leave the country and look for university studies in Sweden. He financed studies and created a better future for himself. He married and had children in Sweden. Together with his son Leo Razzak he started “Banglabarn” to give something back to his home village in Bangladesh.

Sigtunahöjden began a collaboration in 2014 with Banglabarn. Sigtunahöjden has participated and co-funded the construction of a health center and a diabetes clinic in Raton Razzaks’s home village. Now the financial support finances salaries for medical staff. Sigtunahöjden staff are engaged in the collecting money by shopping lunch boxes, rounds up uneven sums in the Sigtunahöjden shop and runs different fun runs.
