In Sigtuna, meetings have been the focus ever since Erik Segersäll founded the town in 980. Sigtunahöjden continues to work in the same tradition, albeit with a new, modern twist. Sigtunahöjden is privately owned, which is evident in our genuine hospitality with a strong focus on each guest. The owner and CEO Lotta Giesenfeld Boman is highly involved in the day-to-day operations, and with more than 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, she has taken Sigtunahöjden to new heights.

Transport and parking

Can I use public transport to get to Sigtunahöjden?

From Stockholm and Uppsala
Take SJ’s Uppsala commuter train or SL’s commuter train to Märsta Station. At Märsta Station change to bus 575 – see under Märsta Station. From Uppsala you can also take bus 181, changing to bus 183 in Vassunda.

From Stockholm Arlanda Airport
Take SL bus 583 to Märsta Station. The bus departs outside the relevant arrivals hall twice per hour. At Märsta Station change bus – see under Märsta Station.

From Märsta Station
Take bus 575 to Sigtuna and Sigtunahöjden. Get off at the Stora Sjudargården bus stop, walk back in the direction the bus came, immediately turn left and then follow the signs for Sigtunahöjden. It is around a 5-minute walk.

From Sigtunahöjden to Märsta Station
Walk around 250 m to Stora Sjudargården bus stop and take bus 575 to Märsta Station, around a 5-minute walk.

Where can I park?

There is free parking right outside our premises.

Can I charge my electric car?

Yes, we have two charging stations for electric cars.

What does a taxi to and from Arlanda Airport cost?

We have an agreement with Cabonline for a fixed price of SEK 300 to and from Stockholm Arlanda Airport if you book via their app. If you book a taxi through us, an electric taxi will always be prioritised.
As a guest with us, you can use the code JamesBond for a 5% discount on your trip if you book using the Cabonline app (not the website).

How far is it to the centre of Sigtuna?

To Sigtuna centre, Stora torget and Stora gatan, it is about a 20-minute walk and about a 2-3 minute drive.

What is the route from Stockholm to Sigtunahöjden by car?

On the E4 in the direction of Uppsala, take the turn-off signposted: “Sigtuna Märsta Arlanda stad”. Then follow the road signposted “Sigtuna väg 263”. It is now 14 km to Sigtunahöjden.
Drive straight on towards Sigtuna over all the roundabouts, the last of which is signposted Sigtuna V. Follow the “Hotellslinga V” road 2 km straight on and up a hill. From there, turn left at the “Sigtunahöjden Hotell och konferens” sign. Drive to the end of “Hertigvägen”.

What is the route from Uppsala to Sigtunahöjden by car?

The restaurant

I have a food allergy. What should I do?

Our goal is to serve sustainable dining experiences with attention to ingredients, the environment and nature. Tell us at the time of booking if you have any special dietary needs so that we can arrange for everyone to get good food and be able eat together. A special diet refers to the National Food Administration’s 14 allergens and vegetarian food. Please inform the contact person you have with us of any special dietary needs at least 5 working days in advance. Any special dietary requirements not preregistered as above will be charged at full price and will be produced extra to the extent that we can meet the participant’s needs. However, please note that we are unable to comply with some diets.

E-mail us in advance of your stay so that we can ensure you are dealt with properly, depending on the type of allergy you have. Once here, please make yourself known to us so that we know who you are.

Can I get something to eat if I arrive the evening before the conference?

Of course! The bar and kitchen are open until 23.00.

When is breakfast served?

Monday-Friday 7.00-10.00
The breakfast buffet is open during selected weekends. Visit our Facebook page for opening hours during weekends. Alternatively, you can use our online booking system to find available dates and also get a lower price when you book and pay online.

The hotel

Do all rooms have a TV?

There are TVs in all rooms with Swedish channels 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and Sky News.

Is there a hairdryer in the room?

Yes, there is a hairdryer in the room.

Are there rooms suitable for wheelchair users?

Yes, there are two rooms that are wheelchair-accessible. Contact reception for bookings.

Can I iron my clothes in my room?

There is access to an iron and ironing board in each hotel corridor.

Other

Can I bring pets?

We gladly accept guide dogs. We also have a hotel room for guests who want to bring a pet, for which we charge an extra fee. Pets are not allowed in areas other than the designated hotel room.

Is Sigtunahöjden non-smoking?

Sigtunahöjden is a non-smoking workplace. At Sigtunahöjden we care about everyone’s health. Our guests may smoke outdoors at the designated ashtrays.

Do you have free WiFi?

Absolutely! You can get the password for the wireless network in reception. The speed is 200 Mbit.

Can I exercise at the venue?

Yes, that’s absolutely fine. There is an exercise room at Sigtunahöjden with free weights, kettle bells and a crosstrainer, among other things. There are excellent walking and jogging tracks in the vicinity. Contact us when you arrive for our best exercise tips.

What can I do nearby when I have a few minutes/hours free?

Sigtunahöjden is in Sigtuna, Sweden’s first town with over 1000 years of history. Along Stora gatan you will also find many great cafés and shops. We will gladly help you with maps and tips at the reception.

What do you do in terms of sustainability?

Sigtunahöjden has been awarded the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and is a part of Sustainable Destination – the sustainability network within Destination Sigtuna. Our raw ingredients come from nearby farms and we give priority to organic products. We also have two beehives to contribute to biodiversity by increasing pollination.
